MOBAS are big players in the gaming world of 2014 and while a lot of critics see the genre as one that Riot and Valve have gotten locked down between them, developer Hi-Rez has pushed forward with their own take on the genre, SMITE to growing success. Dragon Age 2 left many fans feeling disappointed but the series’ third installment set to deal with the big unresolved narrative threads left by the last game but also technical ones as Bioware takes their expansive RPG formula to an open world for the first time. I was able to spend some hands-on time with the game at PAX AUS 2014 and came away with some high hopes and strong impressions for the game.
Microsoft, along with a number of game makers, will be at PAX East this year but not Sony nor Nintendo. The guess for why these two giants are not showing at PAX East is the fact that E3 is right around the corner in June. Nevertheless, PAX East is packed to the brim with developers and publishers. PAX East is April 11-13 in Boston.
Sony says more indie goodness will be coming to the PlayStation 4 and Vita soon.
