What Are the Best Moments from Fixer Upper?
Despite its consistently high ratings, one of the most popular shows on HGTV Fixer Upper is coming to an end after its fifth season.
Chip and Joanna Gaines have been on the air since 2013. In that time they’ve won over television audiences with their charm and warmth by renovated dozens of homes in Waco, Texas and the surrounding areas.
Many are sad to hear of the show’s ending, so to commemorate its success, we’re taking a trip down memory lane. Below, we’re looking back at some of the best moments from the show. These scenes truly capture why America fell in love with Fixer Upper.
1. Chip and the Girls vs. Joanna and the Boys
In season four of HGTV Fixer Upper, Chip and Jo renovated a home for the Morgan family. Keith and Annabelle Morgan had a son and had recently decided to adopt two girls as well.
Chip and Joanna were so touched by the family’s adoption story that they decided to renovate rooms for the Morgan kids, even though it wasn’t part of the original design plan.
Chip teamed up with his two daughters, Ella and Emma, to design a room for the Morgan girls, and Jo worked with her sons, Duke and Drake, to tackle the boy’s room. Viewers loved seeing the entire Gaines family working together.
Keith and Annabelle were thrilled with the new look of their house, from the new living room to the updated kitchen, and were so surprised by their kids’ rooms. It was a sweet gesture that made a big difference to a deserving family.
2. Fixing Up a Houseboat
When one of Chip’s best friends revealed that he wanted to move with his family — including four kids — to a houseboat, Chip and Jo were ready to take on the challenge.
After finding a rundown, 1970s houseboat, the couple gets to work turning it into a dreamboat fit for a family. The goal for the double-decker houseboat was to make it stunning, of course, but also structurally sound and safe for use on the water.
Seeing Chip and Joanna working within a tighter space — and tighter budget — than usual was interesting for fans of the show. The home renovations always come with challenges, but it requires even more creativity when the home is a boat.
3. Teaming Up with Local Companies
Chip and Joanna are expert renovators, but there are some skills that even they have to outsource. Seeing them work with local companies around Waco has been particularly fun for viewers. It shows that their commitment to improving their town is not just for television.
Chip often relies on professional welders, like the ones available at https://appf.com/radio-frequency-welding-services.php to do work on their homes. Meanwhile, Jo works with talented craftsmen to create unique pieces for decoration.
What are Your Favorite HGTV Fixer Upper Moments?
All fans will have their own favorite moments, but Joanna and Chip make watching every episode fun. After five seasons, fans will be sad to see the show leave the air, but with other booming businesses, the Gaines family will still be fun to follow.
