Xbox Live Black Friday Deal Recommendations

Have you been holding out on picking up a game until it reached a price you’re happy with? Well that time might be now because Microsoft’s black Friday digital game sale is enormous this year. The list is surprising as it features newer titles such as Titanfall 2 ($35.99), Battlefield 1 ($40.19), and the Bioshock Collection ($41.99). Here are a few games that I would personally recommend, but if you would like to see the entire extremely-expansive selection, visit Major Nelson’s website (Your wallet will thank you!).

No 1. Batman: Arkham Knight Premium Edition

Price: $16.99

Rocksteady’s third and final installment in the Arkham series and boy did they go out with a bang. In Arkham Knight, Rocksteady has perfected their already intuitive gameplay mechanics to deliver an experience like no other. Playing as the Dark Knight has never been more enjoyable as you have access to the Batmobile and the free roam of Gotham, both for the first time. Arkham Knight by itself is a content loaded game that will take dozens of hours to fully complete, but the premium edition includes all of the DLC subsequently released, which is more than enough to keep any DC fan happy this holiday season.

No 2. Forza Horizon 3

Standard Edition Price: $38.99

Forza Horizon 3 is possibly the best racing experience I’ve ever had. With stunning visuals, responsive racing mechanics and an over-abundance of activities and objectives to complete, this price is an absolute steal. If you’d like to know more, check out Leviathyn’s review.

No 3. Gears of War 4

Standard Edition Price: $35.99gears-4

Gears of War 4 is a welcomed return to the franchise. Everything that made Gears great in the past is present in this newest installment, but all refined to near perfection. The campaign is a blast, Horde Mode will provide hours of challenging chaotic gameplay with friends, and the smooth 60fps multiplayer will satisfy any itch for competition you may have. Considering its recent release, this price tag is very attractive and one I would recommend dishing out for.

No 4. Rise of the Tomb Raider

Standard Edition Price: $26.79 / 20 Year Celebration Price: $46.89rise-of-the-tomb-raider-cover-art

This rebooted Tomb Raider series is one of the few in that category that can boast its superiority over the originals. Crystal Dynamics has completely revived this once dying heroine in this very cinematic experience, where you can expect to hunt bears, overcome staggering odds against human enemies and explore multiple beautiful environments. The standard edition is plenty with a lengthy and largely re-playable campaign, but the 20-year celebration includes all the DLC which adds 4 gameplay expansions. Both would make a good purchase. Rise of the Tomb Raider is easily one of my all-time favorite games, and I highly recommend picking it up.

No.5 Wolfenstein: The New Order

Price: $6.60title-01

Do you ever miss the classic run and gun shooters that put an emphasis on chaotic fun over realism? Wolfenstein: The New Order could be the game for you. In an alternate reality where the Nazis won World War II, you play as B.J. Blazkowicz, a soldier with elite combat skills and a pension for delivering death. Take on your technologically superior enemies and turn the tide of history. Not only is this an engrossing and fun game, but the story is intriguing and will keep your attention for the entirety of its run-time. For $6.60, there is no reason not to add this to your library.

Those are only a few of the many spectacular games available for this years Black Friday digital sale. Tell us, have you already played any of the above games? What games would you recommend from the sale? Comment below.
