A lot of people think playing video games is a waste of time. Video games can actually boost your brain power. Here's how it works and the benefits.
Bioware Lauches Mass Effect Andromeda Voiceover Competition
Most people have dreamed of being an astronaut at one point or another. How great would it be to explore space? While we’ve moved on to more realistic dreams, Bioware are offering one lucky fan a permanent place in virtual space, by voicing a character in the upcoming Mass Effect Andromeda.
The competition officially launched yesterday, September 12th, and entering is extremely simple: all you have to do is download one of the two script choices, upload your vocal take and send it to Bioware. Explorers Wanted (the contest) is open to residents of Australia, Canada (except Quebec), New Zealand, the United Kingdom and United States, and the winner will not only be immortalized in the popular franchise, but will also have a paid trip to one of their recording studios for the recording session.
Contestants can choose from two scripts: the first is an interview between indie documentarian Jordan Tate and Andromeda’s protagonist Ryder, and the second is a conversation between two mercenaries (don’t worry, you play the role of the Tough Mercenary!)
Better get your entries in quickly though, as the entry period closes on September 28th at 6.59AM GMT. After this entries will be judged by a panel of Bioware employees based on how well your performance matches the Mass Effect style (among other criteria). All information, including the contest rules, eligibility and where to send your entries, can be found on the contest page, so PLEASE make sure you read everything before entering!
Now if you’ll excuse me, I have some voice exercises to work on!
Mass Effect Andromeda is the latest in the third-person shooter franchise that promises to bring an unprecedented amount of freedom, a whole new Galaxy to explore and a game that pushes the limits of new generation consoles. It is due to be released on Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC in early 2017.
