New Battlefield 1 “Vehicles” Trailer Revealed
Last week, EA debuted a trailer showcasing the weapons in Battlefield 1. The latest trailer features gameplay and information on the vehicle front:
The video mainly focuses on what they are trying to get accomplished with the tanks: World War I changed the way tanks were utilized and feared, and DICE seems to really be enjoying that aspect of development. The tanks look like there is no finesse needed to operate them due to the brutal nature of the style they are trying to convey.
The video also talks about the way planes are used, since this war was the first to feature planes in such a common way, but only features bombers and fighters (for now). According to a couple of the developers, “Maneuvering these planes were different than modern aircrafts: they were quite light but had really powerful engines…It allows us to really give the players the feeling of being up in the sky.” Sounds like something to look forward to!
There was also some discussion about tank and pilot classes. DICE’s theory is that the users of these vehicles should be specialized in a way that normal infantrymen are not. Operating a tank or plane is a task best left to those trained, so it makes sense to have them piloted by those special classes.
Battlefield is known for it’s huge list of piloted-vehicles, so this could be yet another welcome change for the franchise. Next week EA are set to feature a new map, so stay tuned as we bring you all the details! Battlefield 1 is set to debut on October 21, 2016 on Xbox One, Playstation 4, and Windows.
