Resident Evil 4 Gets An Xbox One/Playstation 4 Release Date
Capcom announced the current-gen remakes of Resident Evil 4, Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6 earlier this year, and fans of the horror series will be pleased to hear that Resident Evil 4 (often referred to as the best Resident Evil game) will be available to play on Xbox One and Playstation 4 from 30th August 2016.
Announced today on the Capcom blog, the Resident Evil 4 port will feature the original game (in all it’s bloody glory), a New Game Plus option (allowing players to take their best weaponry and costumes through a fresh playthrough), an Ada Wong side story and the always-fun Mercenary Mode.
Originally released in 2005 for the GameCube, Resident Evil 4 follows U.S Government special agent Leon S.Kennedy on his mission to save the President’s kidnapped daughter. Cue crazy Spanish villagers, a seemingly-invincible chainsaw-wielding madman and Leon’s irritatingly-mysterious pal Ada Wong. It gained a lot of popularity by breaking the traditional locked camera angles favoured in previous R.E titles, and replacing it with an “over the shoulder” third-person perspective.
You can already download Resident Evil 5 and 6 for both Playstation 4 and Xbox One, and Resident Evil 4 will be priced at $19.99 / €19.99 / £15.99. Here’s hoping it’s as good as the GameCube version!
