The Evil Within Update Brings Letterboxing Removal and Casual Mode Tweaks
The Evil Within was released last year to mixed reception of its cinematic letterbox look. Now, a new update for consoles lets players remove the letterboxing entirely to a new full screen mode.
This update also tweaks the casual difficulty of the game, bringing increased ammo amounts and adjustments to the game’s health bar across all platforms including PC.
I’m interested to see how the game feels with the new full screen mode now. I enjoyed the game a lot when I played it, and never had any issue with the letterbox look. I still haven’t gotten to the games DLC’s (The Assignment and The Consequence) which follows side character Juli Kidman in her own story and provides more background to the games story. It sounds like it might be a good time to get back into the replay I started a while back, and then get to the DLCs since I have the season pass.
