The Best Podcast on the Citadel, Ep. 44

“If you gaze into the abyss the abyss gazes into you.” Friedrich Nietzsche once said that. The meaning of that phrase has been discussed and dissected many times, but I am here to tell you what Nietzsche was really talking about: E3. E3, in an almost week-long frenzy, tears men asunder, chews them up and callously spits them up with complete disregard. Nowhere is that more apparent than in this week’s podcast, where you may cast your ears at the sound of madness itself.

With regular host and (apparently) resident sane person Blake out, host Chris Mrkvicka gathers GameNews writers Shelby Walles, Jack Kimberlin, John Aldridge and Scot Lewandowski to talk, extensively, about this year’s E3 conference, some of their top moments from the show, and the games they are most excited about. That is but a small taste of what is discussed here, as the conversation rolls into topics I don’t think a typed summary could do justice.

Folks, I’m going to level with you. Take a group of E3 crazed writers, add some connection and recording gaffes and subtract one host, and the results are bound to be a little…skewed. I have attempted to piece together this conversation with a modicum of coherence, but it is probably best if you just sit back and take this show for what it is: a hilarious collection of non-sequitars and occasional video game news. Enjoy!
