The Division Gameplay Shown At Ubisoft E3 Conference , Release Date Announced
Ubisoft’s highly anticipated “The Division” received new gameplay footage at this year’s Ubisoft E3 press conference, along with information on “The Dark Zone”. The trailer begins on New Year’s Day, with several players in a squad heading to The Dark Zone, which seems to be an area where your electronics are ineffective. The footage also implies that the game will have loot, if the player’s commentary is any indication.
After sneaking into The Dark Zone, the players are surprised by another squad who sneaks in behind them. However, the two squads choose to work together and fight the A.I. enemies. The fear in the commentator’s voices could imply that the game does have PVP combat and players will have to watch their back if they want to survive.
Commentary also suggests that when a player dies they lose the loot they gained on that life, similar to a rouge-like. However, the loot will likely be able to be held in a safe for those who don’t want to lose their most valuable items. The trailer also showcased a sort of fragile alliance betrayal, as a player leaves that group and kills the other members of his squad, presumably to take their loot. Betas will also be starting early next year for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC at the start of next year.
The Division is releasing on March 8, 2016 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
