E3 2015: Xbox One Now Backwards Compatible With Xbox 360
The Xbox One has been announced at E3 2015 to now feature Backwards Compatability with physical Xbox 360 games. Microsoft also announced that Xbox 360 games played on the Xbox One will be cross play, meaning that gamers on Xbox One will be able to play with players who own the game on Xbox 360 and vice versa. Microsoft also boasts that these Xbox 360 games will run much better on the Xbox One, due to the increased power of the Xbox One console.
Xbox 360 games will also be released digitally on the Xbox One marketplace. This will include games such as Mass Effect, and likely several other popular Xbox 360 games such as Gears of War, Fallout 3, etc. Players who have joined the service for preview/beta updates on the Xbox One should be able to test out the new Backwards Compatability very soon.
Xbox 360 to Xbox One Backwards Compatability will be officially released later this year, during the holiday season.
