E3 2015: Halo 5 Gameplay Shown On Stage, Details On Multiplayer
A Halo 5 CG trailer was shown at E3 today, featuring the Arbiter, Master Chief, Spartan Locke, and Nathan Fillion’s character from Halo 3: ODST. The trailer eventually turned into gameplay, with the footage looking similar to other Halo games, including the traditional HUD that has become a Halo standar. The trailer also showcased a large area scanning ability, which will likely mark enemies. Shortly after this you see a Grunt commit suicide by grenade, in classic Halo fashion.
The spartans in the trailer seem to be searching for the Master Chief as well, looking for him in a Covenant base. The new gameplay showed off an Uncharted/Call of Duty style set piece, which featured the player running for cover with explosions and gunfire flying all around them. A system used for spotting/marking enemies was also shown, along with a new down but not out system in which (presumably) those who play co-op will be able to revive their friends, rather than them dying outright.
It also seems that Spartans wil have access to a ground pound from the air, and that the Prometheans from Halo 4 will make a return, with the official gameplay ending when Locke is being hoisted in the air by a large Promethean.
After the initial gameplay footage came “Warzone” multiplayer footage, which boasted PvP matches, and “Player vs. Everything” game types which likely means that Firefight will make a return.
