New Fallout 4 Gameplay Shown By Bethesda, Looks Incredible
A new gameplay trailer for Fallout 4 was shown today, including things such as the character creator, which simply involves dragging several parts of the characters face to create them. The new trailer also confirmed that Fallout 4 will allow female player characters, and will generate any children you sire off the appearance of both parents. Both genders will seemingly feature full voice acting for conversations.
The trailer begins with a large focus on pre-war life, showing a bright and cheery world based on the 1950’s America. The trailer also shows off character skill distribution, handled by a Vault-Tec door to door salesman. Fallout 4 will also have over 1000 of the most popular names that the player can choose from, which will then be said by NPC’s throughout the game.
The game takes place 200 years after the nuclear bombings that we saw in the first trailer for the game with the player character being the sole survivor in Vault 111. The game also features greatly improved third person character animations, of course the game will be fully playable in first person. Conversations are also viewable in First and Third Person, a change from Fallout 3 and New Vegas.
The trailer also shows V.A.T.S. with the system no longer completely stopping time, but slowing it to a snail’s pace. Bethesda’s Todd Howard also confirmed that the game is set in Boston, Massachusetts which has been rumored since Fallout 4’s original trailer. The footage also shows off the new Pipboy, showing off minigames playable on the Pipboy within Fallout 4 and the ability to listen to holotapes, a returning feature from previous Fallout games.
The special edition of Fallout 4 will include a Pipboy stand that will fit your phone inside it, with Bethesda releasing an Application that will work as a second screen experience for the full game. The app will be releasing alongside the game when it finally releases.
Fallout 4 will release November 10th this year on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
