More Kickstarter Stretch Goals Announced for Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night
The Kickstarter for Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night has been a huge success. With just 4 days to go as of this writing, the spiritual successor to the Castlevania series has surpassed $3.5 million dollars in funding. Koji Igarashi has revealed all but the last stretch goal and it appears that there’s plenty to look forward to. The next goal is set at $3.75 million and will see several orchestrated tracks making it onto the official soundtrack. Igarashi is teaming with a veteran composer for the Castlevania series, Michiru Yamane, to work on the soundtrack.
Reaching the $4 million goal will see a real-time online multiplayer mode added in. Not to be confused with the asynchronous multiplayer that’s already confirmed. Players will be dropped into specially designed stages and be tasked with earning points by finding items, killing enemies, and collecting materials. $4.25 million will add a third playable character to the game. This game will be introducing an entirely new cast of characters into the world of video games so it’s exciting to see what else Igarashi has planned on this front.
$4.5 million will see the release of a retro-styled prequel game. Being released on consoles in advance to set up the story for the main game. Though it will be sold separately, backers that have pledged at least $28 will receive a free copy. Finally, at $4.75 million, the retro-styled prequel game will see a release on the 3DS and Vita. It does seem hard to believe that the highest goal will be reached in less than five days but only time will tell. Other major Kickstarter projects have had massive spikes in funding near the end of their run, so it’s not unheard of!
What do you think of the new stretch goals? Will any of these new goals convince you to back this project? We would love to read your thoughts in the comments below! Set to release in March 2017, be sure to stick with GameNews on all the latest developments on BloodStained: Ritual of the Night.
