Senran Kagura: Estival Versus Coming West
XSEED, publisher of games like Earth Defense Force and Akiba’s Trip, announced today in a tweet that Senran Kagura: Estival Versus will be heading west this year.
The tweet states: “What’s that, SENRAN KAGURA fans? SK2 Deep Crimson not enough for you? Good, because ESTIVAL VERSUS is coming, too!”
Released in Japan in March, Estival Versus is the latest entry in the button bashing, Musou-style action franchise developed by Tamsoft, Senran Kagura for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita. The game features multiple playable characters and stages, each with their own moves and weapons. The game features 10 player online for PlayStation 4 and 4 player online for PlayStation Vita. Also for the first time in the series, Estival Versus features “clothing break”, a mechanic featured in one of Tamsoft’s western releases earlier this year, Hyperdimension Neptunia U Action Unleashed, which is a… less than classy feature where when a girl (all the playable characters are female) takes enough damage her clothes, well, break. Its certainly a game deeply encroached in its fan service, and its not shameful about it.
There’s no confirmed western release date for Senran Kagura: Estival Versus, besides sometime in 2015, along with a host of other previously unlocalized games coming for fans of many series this year. For XSEED’s full list of upcoming western releases, redirect your browser here.
