New Look at What Remains Of Edith Finch

Last December Giant Sparrow, makers of The Unfinished Swan, announced their new game What Remains Of Edith Finch at PSX. This week they have released a brand new trailer showing more of the game’s surreal designs and imagery.

Giant Sparrow explains on the Playstation Blog that the game is a collection of short stories and the player is tasked with finding these stories by going through the eccentric house of the Finch family. In each story you’ll learn about one member of the Finch family, who they were, how they lived, and in what strange and horrible way they died.

The team wishes for the house to feel like a very believable place that could exist in the real world, but still portraying an otherworldly personality for each room influenced by the peculiar minds of the house’s former tenants. Each short story you come across is meant to flesh out the individual that it’s based on and how they died, while the house itself and its architecture is meant to explain the entire family line.
