Gaijin Entertainment Announces New Vehicle Combat MMO Game “Crossout”
The Russian developer Gaijin Entertainment, known for the game War Thunder, has announced they are working on a new vehicle combat MMO game known as Crossout. The game is set in a post-apocalyptic world where if you want to survive, you’ll have to build a vehicle and take on other players in the world.
The vehicles you will be creating to take on other players will have multiple ways of customizing them in order to maximize their destruction. Some of the weapon customizations that will be featured include things like chain saws, power-drills, machine guns, and rocket launchers, as well as flying drones and stealth generators. All the items you acquire from your destructive adventures will be able to be sold with other players. It also sounds like you will be able to create your own car parts with a workshop and then auction the items to other players.
Another feature that is going to be in the game is something known as the advanced damage model, where if you destroy different parts on an enemy vehicle it’s going to affect how the vehicle performs. I imagine if you can shoot the tires off of someone’s vehicle they won’t be going anywhere fast.
The game sounds very similar to the recent film Mad Max, with the post-apocalyptic world and vehicles you’ll be using throughout the game. There isn’t any gameplay out yet so we won’t know how the game actually is until more info is revealed.
The beta is set to start sometime this summer and you can sign up for that by heading to the official game page by heading here.
