The 90s Arcade Racer 60fps Wii U Preview

The 90s Arcade Racer is an upcoming indie racer that wants to capture the good old days of Daytona U.S.A. and San Francisco Rush. It’s the product of a successful Kickstarter campaign that reached over $25,000 and today they’ve shown the fruits of some of that labor. Check out the new trailer below which introduces the game running on the Wii U at a brisk 60 fps showing off their very retro-influenced menus, fancy cars, and some hot looking environments. They even have a Level Lord-looking miniature play-set as a racetrack and something involving an elephant dual-wielding guns shooting balloons because, you know, ‘The 90s’.

Now this is the kind of indie retro revival I can get behind! The game was originally a single person project, but some of the people over at Nicalis have joined in to help with development. There is currently no hard release date, but the game is slated to come to Wii U as well as PC, Mac, Linux and numerous mobile devices.
