According to a report from Gamespot, Perfect World Entertainment announced today that Neverwinter on the Xbox One is set to receive five free expansions this year. There are very little details right now, but they did say that the expansions will be based on the Elemental Evil and Tyranny of Dragons storylines.
The company also revealed a number of impressive statistics for the free to play MMORPG, which has gained 1.6 million players since its launch. Over 2.3 million characters have been created, with over 92,000 reaching the game’s level cap of 60. Players have also clocked in a total of 86 million minutes of play time, and killed over 1 billion enemies in the game.
Neverwinter was originally released on PC two years ago, but it only recently made the transition to the Xbox One. Xbox Head Phil Spencer also chimed in on the games success, saying that “We’re thrilled gamers have embraced this unique free-to-play MMORPG on Xbox One.”
Neverwinter launched on the Xbox One on March 31, 2015, and can be downloaded now for free, though an Xbox Live gold subscription is required to play.
