Nintendo Is Finally Making A Theme Park

“You need to get out of the house and stop playing those video games!” I know that’s a statement I’ve heard once or twice, and it’s a safe bet to say that some of you probably have also. Well, the day may soon arrive where those two activities can finally live the life they’ve always dreamed…together.

Nintendo has announced plans to partner up with Universal Parks and Resorts to create a theme park based around the legendary game developer. According to the folks at My Nintendo News, Universal’s plan is to create “spectacular, dedicated experiences based on Nintendo’s wildly popular games, characters and worlds”. What could that entail? Mainstays such as Mario kart, Luigi’s Haunted Mansion and Peach’s Castle are surely locks, but maybe we will see less obvious choices like Hyrule Village, a real-life recreation of World 1-1 or maybe a stroll through DK’s mine shaft. The possibilities are endless, and I am not even going to try to hide my excitement at the thought of a real life Pokemon Snap adventure.

Details are very scarce at this point, but clearly this is an idea that has a lot of potential. With all the changes and projects going on at Nintendo, it’s clear they aren’t sitting idly by and resting on their laurels. Now, we play the waiting game.
