The Best Podcast on the Citadel, Ep. 37

It is truly a great time to be a gamer, or a movie watcher….or just a guy who likes to sit on his couch and watch Netflix. Digital media is stronger than ever, and whether you are filling your hours performing fatalaties, waiting for Age of Ultron to be released or binging on Daredevil, there is no shortage of properties to tickle your fancy. The Best Podcast on the Citadel is here to break it all down, and we start with the biggest news of the week: NEW STAR WARS TRAILER!

It truly is a thing of beauty. Hosts Blake Anglin and Chris Mrkvicka are joined by Leviathyn writers Geoff Foster and Jake James Lugo to discuss what exactly is going on in the new teaser trailer, and what it means for the upcoming film. This also ties into the upcoming Star Wars Battlefront game, which may have also had its release date leaked. Either way, the trailer set the Internet ablaze, and we discuss all the implications that brings.

After the recent announcement that Rock Band 4 is alive and well, you knew it wouldn’t be too long before Guitar Hero butted its way back into the competition. And, well, it happened. Guitar Hero Live is a brand new experience, compete with a radically different art style, a new UI and even a completely new guitar peripheral. There are a lot of big ideas here, but the question remains: will it be enough to thrust the series back into relevance? The group isn’t so sure, and we share our doubts.

With Mortal Kombat X out in the wild, and scoring some rave reviews, we talk about the visceral fighter, how it has handled DLC and some characters we would like to see take a spear from Scorpion. And after the madness of last week’s draft, we added a couple more people to do it all over again. Blake, Geoff, Chris and JJ all take turns picking their ultimate Mortal Kombat team. Who winds up with the best lineup? We will leave that for you to decide. You can find all that and more, right here on The Best Podcast on the Citadel.

If you have time, we would appreciate you subscribing and rating us on iTunes. Thanks so much for tuning in, and we will see you guys next week!
