Star Wars Battlefront – New Teaser Image, Play It First On Xbox One?

EA have released a new official image from DICE’s Star Wars Battlefront, which is coming later this year for Xbox One, Playstation 4 and PC. Aaron Greenberg, head of global product marketing for Xbox first and third party games, wrote on Twitter:

This will be implemented via EA Access. The subscription based package offers free games and discounts, as well as free early access trials to a multitude of upcoming EA releases. These first looks are normally for a period of 6-10 gameplay hours. There are no other details about how “early” or lengthy Battlefield’s first access will be.

Battlefront will officially debut at the Star Wars Celebration this weekend in Anaheim. The new teaser does not give away any new information, showing what looks to be a Stormtrooper clutching a rifle, with the Battlefront logo superimposed over the top of the image.

Star Wars Battlefront is being built on the Frostbite 3 engine, and has been described as “DICE’s interpretation of what Battlefront should be” by DICE studio head Patrick Söderlund. First gameplay footage was actually shown at a private event in March, to which it received a “superb ovation” from those in attendance.

Star Wars Battlefront will be the first game in the series for ten years, and is scheduled to release in late 2015.
