A lot of people think playing video games is a waste of time. Video games can actually boost your brain power. Here's how it works and the benefits.
The Best Podcast on the Citadel, Ep. 36
It’s Friday (woo!), and the Best Podcast on the Citadel is here to gently guide you into the weekend with this week’s biggest stories in the world of gaming. Hosts Blake Anglin and Chris Mrkvicka dig into the games they have been playing lately, including titles ranging from Bloodborne to Forza Horizon 2 Presents Fast & Furious. The guys also give out a free Steam game this week, but you will have to listen to the end to see how to claim it.
There was plenty of news to discuss this week, and we begin with Activision officially announcing Black Ops III, which is being developed by Treyarch. For the first time since they entered the Call of Duty battlefield with World at War, they have been given a three-year development cycle. Will this extra time, plus the return of the fan-favorite zombie mode, be enough to overpower cries of franchise fatigue? It remains to be seen. In a developing story we touched on last episode, it appears a random voice actor has confirmed the firing of Hideo Kojima from Konami. That’s not exactly the ideal way to drop that bomb, so we try to break down what this could mean for all parties involved.
Square Enix and Game Informer have teamed up to reveal the next entry in the Deus Ex saga: Mankind Divided. A direct sequel to 2011’s Human Revolution, Mankind Divided was announced along with a nifty trailer and a ton of hype. Can it live up to it? In other news, indie horror darling Five Night’s at Freddy’s has been approved for a movie adaptation. As far as we know, Uwe Boll is not involved, so I feel better about it already.
Finally, in a shake up of our usual top list, Blake and Chris enter into their first ever list fantasy draft. The goal? To put together the best list of the best Mario games ever. A lot of hard truths were faced during this draft, but in the end, only one man can have the better list. We leave it up to you to decide. Place your votes for the best list, leave a comment and you will be in the running for a free Steam game from the Humble Bundle! Don’t miss out, as it’s all here and more, on the Best Podcast on the Citadel.
