Jackbox Games Launch Kickstarter Campaign For Quiplash
Jackbox Games have unveiled a new Kickstarter campaign for their upcoming project – Quiplash. The company have previously released numerous party games in which tablets and phones are utilized as in-game controllers, such as Fibbage, Drawful and YOU DON’T KNOW JACK.
Quiplash will also be controlled via tablets and phones to provide answers to various prompts, such as “an alternate use for a banana”. Other players can then vote for their favorite answer, which will impact on the score. It is noted that potentially thousands of players can be involved in just one game of Quiplash, by voting for their favorite responses.
Jackbox Games have advised that they have some ambitious goals that they are hoping to achieve, and they have plans in place to counter any issues they may run into. They also mentioned that the backing they receive via Kickstarter will be extremely important to allow them to implement as much content as possible. “We’re aiming for hundreds and hundreds of prompts in the game and we need to write, edit, and record all of that content in a short period of time. Thankfully, we have lots of experience doing this (i.e. YOU DON’T KNOW JACK, Fibbage, Drawful) and with your backing we can ramp up the resources we need.”
For their latest release, Jackbox Games are hoping to raise $15,000 within 30 days. As a reward for backing the campaign, a pledge of $8 or more will guarantee a digital copy on release, and there are various other rewards available including a place in the credits for any backers who are willing to part with $100. The company have stated that the game will available for PC, Xbox One, PS4 and PS3 (although the console versions are limited to North America, as is the case with previous titles from Jackbox Games) and they hope to release in early summer 2015.
