Pokemon Developer Announces New Game Tembo The Badass Elephant
Pokemon developer Game Freak and SEGA are teaming up in an unlikely alliance to bring a uniquely bizaree new 2D side-scroller to PC, Xbox One and PS4: Tembo the Badass Elephant.
Announced on SEGA’s official blog, Tembo the Badass Elephant is being developed by Game Freak, and features the titular elephant, and his human companion Picolo, stomping, punching and swinging(?) his way through highly stylized 2D levels. It almost looks like a moving comic, and looks to feature some fun, if unorthodox, gameplay to back up the visuals. SEGA’s VP of Commercial Publishing John Clark made this regretful statement regarding the game:
“We’re delighted to be working with Game Freak to bring this heavyweight adventure to an audience we feel it will have relephants to. It’s a trunkful of fun and we think gamers are going to love it. Hopefully more than my rubbish elephant puns. ”
Just kidding, I love a good pun. Considering Game Freak’s reputation as a developer of one of the most loved franchises in gaming, this is an interesting title to keep an eye on. Tembo the Badass Elephant is currently slated for a release this summer, and you can check out the video below to get a sense of the craziness that this game is.
