Get Your First Look At Persona 5 In Its First Gameplay Trailer
As hoped, Atlus gave us our first real glimpse at the upcoming Persona 5 during their Persona themed live stream event.
Coinciding with the Persona Super Live 2015 concert, the live stream lasted a whopping three days and treated us to a ton of exciting Persona related content. The most exciting of all of this was the reveal of a new Persona 5 trailer; the first to show us in game footage.
The trailer shows us the gorgeously stylized new world to be found in Persona 5, which gives off very distinct Catherine vibes. You play as a phantom thief/high school student protagonist, and developer Katsura Hashino promised that your party members will be “a tad bit more ill behaved than what you’ve been used too until now”.
This step in a more mature direction for the Persona franchise will surely be a welcome one for fans of the more dark Persona 3. Hashino went on to explain in a blog post posted after the trailer was shown, that they would be trying some different things from the hit Persona 4.
For this game, we’re going with a challenge that fuses together a juvenile school setting that is as large as life, together with a picaresque romance. In the previous game, we wrote a story that involved having a justice group chase down a bad guy that could easily be feared by just about anyone.
This time, it’s about a group of high school students that are being ‘chased’ by unexpected occurrences due to the justice they believe in. We’re writing [the story] to convey a thrilling everyday life in the shoes of these characters, that are as large as life, in this juvenile school setting.
Did you like what you saw from the Persona 5 trailer, and are you excited for more!? Persona 5 launches for the PS3 and PS4 platforms sometime later this year, but untill then keep it here at Leviathyn for all things Persona.
