Take-Two Confirms Borderlands 3
Take-Two Interactive has recently released their financial report from Q3 of 2014, and in addition to revealing that the company did quite well for themselves, they have also let loose one very interesting tidbit: Borderlands 3 is coming to PC and current gen consoles.
2K Games will be publishing the game, and Gearbox will be taking over development again after outsourcing Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel to 2K Australia. The Pre-Sequel was a polarizing title for some Borderlands devotees, so a return to form could be exactly what the franchise needs.
It’s a busy time for both the Borderlands franchise and developer Gearbox. Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel is still receiving DLC, with the most recent being the announcement of new character Lady Hammerlock. Telltale is also in the process of creating games in the Borderlands universe, with Tales from the Borderlands getting its first episode recently (of which you can read our review here). On top of all that, The Handsome Collection, which bundles Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel plus all of their DLC offerings, is scheduled for release on PS4, Xbox One and PC March 24th.
Gearbox is also currently the developing the shooter/MOBA hybrid Battleborn, which is scheduled for release sometime late this year. There is currently no release date or other details announced for Borderlands 3, so stay tuned as we update the story as we learn more about the exciting project.
