Report: The Witcher 3 Will Have A 50GB Install On PS4
A recent report suggests that the Witcher 3 could have an install of up to 50GB, which is 10% of your PS4 hard drive.
Boasting an overworld that is over 60 square kilometers, 100s of hours of quest content and God-knows-how-much recorded dialogue and music, this really isn’t too surprising, but it is noteworthy. 50GB isn’t that much in the grand scheme of things, but with many players stocking up on digital games, and almost all retail games having some kind of install, some tough decisions about what to keep may be in store for some. No word on what the Xbox One install may be, but the PC version requires a 40GB install file.
This has not been confirmed yet, but my money goes towards it being at least close to accurate. With news that CD Projekt RED is giving out all future DLC to customers free of charge, clocked in right now at at least 16 packs, The Witcher 3 could be taking up a lot of space on your hard drive, and this isn’t even counting people who buy the game completely digital. Either way, it’s becoming clear that a 500GB hard drive isn’t quite as impressive as it sounded a couple of years ago.
The Witcher 3 is coming to PC, Xbox One and PS4 May 19th. You can check out our preview of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt here.
