Exposition And Explosions In Newest The Order: 1886 Trailer
The Order: 1886 is only a month away, and that means the hype train is full steam ahead. Check out the latest story trailer:
The trailer doesn’t tell us anything particularly new, especially if you’ve been following the game for the past year or so. The Order: 1886 takes place in an alternate history’s version of London, where an ancient order of Knights with cool names uses the Industrial Revolution to fight off creatures known as Half-Breeds.
This is the first console-exclusive title from studio Ready At Dawn. The developers cut their teeth on some solid PSP titles such as Daxter and the God Of War prequels in years past. It will be exciting to see what they can do behind the reigns of a massive AAA tentpole title such as The Order.
Players can expect a cinematic, narrative-driven experience from The Order, with state-of-the-art motion capture and animations. The gameplay looks like pretty standard cover based third-person shooter fare, but the presentation looks like something special. Anyone like me who has a weak spot for cinematic games will want to check it out.
The trailer is gorgeous, and The Order: 1886 is shaping up to be one of the prettiest games of this generation. The title will run at 30 FPS, in a letterboxed 1280×800 resolution meant to mimic anamorphic widescreen movies (and also to get the best anti-aliasing out of the Playstation 4 as possible).
The Order: 1886 is a Playstation 4 exclusive and will launch on February 20th. Players can pre-purchase and pre-load on the Playstation Store to have it at midnight.
