Borderlands: The Handsome Collection Announced

It may not be the biggest surprise in the world, but it is certainly a welcome one. After months of speculation, Gearbox Studios has announced The Handsome Collection, a porting of two Borderlands games coming to PS4 and Xbox One.

The Handsome Collection gathers Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, along with all their DLC offerings, into one collection. The omission of the original Borderlands is a shame, but two excellent games for the standard $59.99 isn’t too shabby, especially considering the wealth of DLC that comes with the package (which also includes the Pre-Sequel DLC that hasn’t been released yet). Even better, Gearbox has announced that you will be able to carry over your progress for both games, Badass ranks and all, over to the newer systems.

While the regular edition comes at the standard price, Gearbox is also throwing out all the stops on the so-called Claptrap-in-a-Box Edition. Retailing for a cool $400, this nets you the full game, 12 Vault Hunter Lithographs and the titular Claptrap. This Claptrap will be fully remote controlled via an app on your smartphone, as well as come with a camera embedded in his eye for a full view of what he is seeing. Sadly, there is no word on whether he is high-five compatible or not, but Gearbox is only selling 5,000 of these bad boys, so snag one while you can.

Even if you have played one or both of these games before, such a comprehensive package is hard to ignore. That is a ton of DLC for two really fun games, and the fact you can carry over your existing progress is gravy. If you are interested, you don’t have to wait long. Borderlans: The Handsome Collection will be available on PS4 and Xbox One March 24th.
