2015: Year Of The “Horror” Gamer? Part 2

Hi again! Welcome back. Let’s continue with the horrifyingly horrific list of horror games I will play in 2015. whether I like it or not. So with out further formalities, lets start with my most anticipated game of 2015.

Dying Light (Techland)

Let me have a look at those... pretty... teeth, before I knock them out.

Let me have a look at those… pretty… teeth, before I knock them out.

I have been dying to take a swing at Dying Light for months and with the release a few days away I am keeping my night light on in preparation. A open world zombie apocalypse themed game with a heavy focus on free-running, what more could an “active” gamer ask for? Not to mention a day-night cycle that will have you favouring daytime for good reason and characters that will have you musing over their personalities for a while Dying Light has made a lasting impression on me and my circle of mates.

Release: 27 Jan 2015

Bloodborne (From Software)

Cue fog … Cue dramatic pose… Perfect shot. Now lets get the hell out of here.

Any game that is directed buy the same guy that directed Dark Souls and Demon’s Soul, Hidetaka Miyazaki, will find it’s way onto my BOLO list. The fact that it is also one of 2015’s most anticipated games gives it more warrant to be here. Set in fictional Yharnam and taking on the role of a traveler seeking a special remedy said to be in the city and having a few mutated beasts thrown in to mix makes for a thrilling if not terrifying plot. As for the gameplay, well what would one do without an arsenal of medieval-fantasy weapons? Let me know when you find out

Release: 24 Mar 2015

The Witcher 3: Wild hunt (CD Projekt RED)

Amazing view. The landscape I mean.

This is to be the concluding act of the story of Geralt of Rivia as he embarks on a personal quest that pits him against an invading army known as the Wild Hunt in a setting said to be 30 times larger than that of the previous Witcher games. If the previous Witcher games and the series of short stories and novels are anything to go by then gamers are set for amazing gameplay, awe-inspiring vistas and intriguing storytelling.

Release: 19 May 2015

The Order: 1886 (Ready at Dawn, SCE Santa Monica Studio)

A moustache has never looked so good and deadly at the same time.

What’s wrong with this image. King Arthur,Knights of the Round Table. Werewolves, the industrial revolution, thermal imaging Zeppelins, wireless communication and  guns? Well nothing. That’s according to the guys at Ready at Dawn and  SCE Santa Monica Studio and they make that point in their single-player action-adventure video game, The Order: 1886 set in alternate history London. The werewolves, or “half breeds” aren’t the only treat though, when the lower classes of society rebel. What will you make of it?

Guess these guys just don’t know how to die.

I love Resident Evil. I always have. And when I heard that Capcom would be continuing the episodic survival horror video game series also known as Biohazard Revelations I was super excited, Set between Resident Evil 5 and 6 with Claire Redfield as the protagonist and everyone’s favourite Barry Burton’s daughter Moira Burton in support (not to mention that Barry himself is set to be a playable protagonist) every Resident Evil fan will be biting at the reins to get their hands on the next episode.
