Assassin’s Creed Unity DLC Dead Kings Coming Next Week

Ubisoft announced in a press release today that the first piece of DLC for their glitch simulator Assassin’s Creed Unity will be available on January 13th.  It will be free to all who purchased Unity, as Ubisoft’s apology for the game’s broken state at launch.

The five hour downloadable campaign takes place after the events of Assassin’s Creed Unity and will whisk Arno away to the French city of Saint-Denis.  There, he will be tasked with the mission of exploring tombs of the dead kings buried underneath the city.  There will be new weapons, areas, story missions, side quests, and enemies to brutally murder in the name of justice and freedom.  Check out the cinematic trailer here.

Additionally, there will be outfits and gear that carries over between the main campaign of Assassin’s Creed Unity and Dead Kings, as well as new cooperative missions for those feeling lonely down in the catacombs.

Assassin’s Creed Unity had a lukewarm reception over here at Leviathyn, and the myriad patches since launch haven’t made things much better.

Unity is the perfect example of modern AAA gaming, with ridiculous pre-order bonuses and a gameplay experience marred by the release of a rushed, unfinished product.  It’s difficult to pump out quality content annually.  The sooner big publishers like Activision and Ubisoft learn that, the better.
