Sony Says Sorry With Extra PS Plus Time, Store Coupon

Sony is reaching out to users who were affected by the recent Playstation Network outages with some post-holiday goodies. The details are over on the Playstation Blog, with Sony giving:

…all PlayStation Plus members that had an active membership or free trial on December 25th a membership extension of five days.

The extension will be applied automatically, but it is not available yet.  Any user whose membership expires before the extension is applied will be credited 5 free days as well.

If that wasn’t enough, Sony is also offering a 10 percent Playstation Store coupon to all Playstation Network members.  It will be good for a discount off your cart total, one-time use.  It’s not quite a free game like the last time the Playstation Network suffered a massive attack, but it’s something.  Go buy Transistor.

This news comes after two members of Lizard Squad were arrested this week, Vinnie Omari and the group’s self-proclaimed spokesperson “Ryan.”

It’s also a new month and you know what that means: more free games for Playstation Plus!  Check them out here.

Happy New Year from everyone at Leviathyn!
