Atilla Total War: Epic win or epic fail?
Despite good reviews, some gamers have recently voiced their concern regarding the similarity some of the Total War games share. Will Atilla be new and exciting or will it resemble Rome 2 too much?
Speaking with some of my friends, whom I play a lot of TW with, one voices his concern regarding Total War Atilla. According to him a lot of the Total War games with primarily melee battles, resemble each other and lack new features, so I decided to see if that would so in this case. At first looking some of the features that Creative Assembly proudly shows, one might understand why some are concerned.
The features include many things regarding running the game itself, detail and historical accuracy but nothing regarding new features to battles or controlling cities and zones. A full list can be seen at their website here: http://www.totalwar.com/attila and their previous release Rome Total War II contained several hints at how new and refreshing that game would be with an entirely new way of playing the game.
However looking at pictures from the game indicates that the game will not be like anything we have seen before.
If I should describe the picture above with one word, it would be “epic-ness”. The picture displays chaos and action like a siege in the Total War games includes. The catapults firing, the men in formation and the burning city all make me believe that this game is not like the others and will stand out from the rest and Creative Assembly seem very sure that this game will be a success since they are already promoting the purchase of a DLC. However truly finding out if this game will be an epic fail or an epic win means waiting until the 17th of February where the game will be released.
