Take A Look At Final Fantasy Type-0 HD Collector’s Edition
In a post over on the Playstation Blog, Square-Enix has unveiled a massive collector’s edition for the upcoming western premiere of Final Fantasy Type-0 HD. The Japan-only PSP exclusive will come across the ocean on March 17th, 2015. Take a look:
There will be a ton of goodies to unpack. Here’s a list:
- Golden Steel Book case with art from none other than Yoshitaka Amano. Inside is the game disc and a 15-song soundtrack hand-picked by the game’s composer, Takeharu Ishimoto.
- 200-page manga that occurs alongside the opening of the game.
- 80-page art book with a foreword written by the game’s director, Hajime Tabata.
- 5 life-size replicas of the cards wielded by Ace, one of the game’s many playable characters.
On top of all that, anyone that pre-orders will be entered into a Square-Enix sweepstakes. The prizes range from custom PS4 consoles to collectible jewelry and a bunch of other runner-up prizes.
The biggest incentive for buying Final Fantasy Type-0 HD might be access to the first playable demo of the Half-Life 3 of RPGs– Final Fantasy (Versus XIII) XV. The demo is called Episode Duscae, and it is a sprawling, multi-hour affair that spans the entirety of one of the game’s opening areas.
There is a caveat however– and it’s a big one. Access to Episode Duscae is meant to be a “thank you” (according to a recent episode of Square-Enix Presents) to early-adopters of Final Fantasy Type-0 HD. Consequently, the demo will only ship with the “Day One” edition of the game. It will never be released as a stand-alone product. If you’re like me and were only planning on picking up Final Fantasy Type-0 HD for the FFXV demo, you’d better get pre-ordering.
Hajime Tabata will be participating in a Reddit AMA on January 23rd at 1:00pm EST.
