Resident Evil HD is coming in January according to Capcom. The HD remaster of the 2002 remake of the 1996 classic will be available digitally in North America and Europe on the Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC on Jan. 20 at a retail price of $19.99.
The game will support 1080p resolution on the current-gen versions and 720p on last-gen consoles. The PC version will feature options to adjust the frame rate. All versions of the game will feature 16:9 widescreen support, with the option to revert to 4:3 screen ratio. The game will feature a “very easy” mode and will support classic controls as well as a new control scheme.
The original Resident Evil was released for the Playstation. It was one of the most successful games on that system and the game is often credited for popularizing the survival horror genre. In 2002, the game was completely remade for the Gamecube. The terrible dialogue was replaced with competent writing and voice acting and certain gameplay features, such as the ability to quick-turn were added.
