Free Copy Of Limbo For Xbox One Early Adopters

The Xbox One launched a year ago today. Microsoft is thanking those users who bet on their console early by giving them the beloved indie darling Limbo for free.

Of course, no eighth generation version of Playdead’s dark side-scroller has been announced yet. The title was met with critical acclaim when it released on the Xbox 360 back in 2010. Since then, Limbo has been released on nearly every current platform except the Xbox One and Playstation 4. No surprise, as Limbo was the third-highest selling game on Xbox Live Arcade in 2010.

Microsoft is celebrating their one year anniversary by giving away a ton of digital content. You can check out the full list over on Major Nelson’s blog. Random users will be selected for a number of prizes, from console bundles to free Xbox Live Gold for a year.

Only players who purchased their Xbox One console before this November 11th in the 17 launch markets are eligible. Users must also be at least 17 years old and have logged at least 10 hours on the Xbox One.

The Xbox One has had its fair share of controversy this year, starting even before release at 2014’s tumultuous E3. Sales are up following a $50 price cut, but the Xbox One’s two post-Titanfall exclusives, Sunset Overdrive and the Master Chief Collection, are underperforming.
