Day-One Patch For GTA 5 On PS4, Xbox One
In an update on their website, Rockstar announced that the re-release of Grand Theft Auto 5 will include what they’re calling a title update, or a day-one patch.
The update includes “last-minute tweaks and optimization fixes” for day one of Grand Theft Auto 5. Rockstar also invited players to report all technical issues and feedback, so they an roll out fixes dynamically alongside all of their promised free content. Day-one patches is nothing new, so take it as a sign of goodwill from Rockstar.
This re-release of Grand Theft Auto 5 has been in the news consistently since it’s reveal at E3 2014. Besides the promised graphical overhaul (which made an already beautiful game even prettier), the big addition is a fully-functional first-person mode. The entire game, both single and multiplayer, can be played in first-person. The player can switch on the fly for an entirely new experience. I’ve always found the shooting in the series to be a bit loose even at the best of times– hopefully the first-person mode will offer more precision than the third-person view.
Grand Theft Auto 5 also boasts a 30-player online mode, as opposed to the current capacity of 16 on the last-gen version. Alongside a brand-new character creator and beefier content creator, Grand Theft Auto Online looks to be a more realized multiplayer component than ever before.
