MatchMaking Issues Hit Halo: The Master Chief Collection

Players from various parts of the world have reported major matchmaking issues while attempting to play Halo: The Master Chief Collection. Reports from the Halo sub Reddit and HaloWaypoint forums suggest that the wait time to enter a single match is taking up to 3 hours for a lot of players, with Australian and New Zealand players first reporting the problems as the game continues to roll out worldwide today.

Microsoft has stated the following on the official Xbox Live support page, claiming to be working with developer 343 Industries on fixing the issues:

“Xbox members, are you having a tough time matchmaking in Halo: The Master Chief Collection? As you read this message, we’re working with our external partner to correct this issue right away. We appreciate your patience in the meantime! We’ll update you again when we have more information.

“Additionally, it’s come to our attention that some of our members are having a tough time viewing the online state and activity of other users on their Friends list. Hang in there, folks! As you read this message, we’re working with our partner to correct this issue. Thanks for your patience while we work. We’ll update you again in half an hour.”

Microsoft has told IGN that it expects the servers to improve with time, once more and more players log on.
