Ubisoft’s Major Titles Pulled From Steam
In a sudden turn of events, Ubisoft has pulled three of its major triple A releases from Steam, forcing PC gamers to purchase the games from Ubisoft’s own service, Uplay. The games in question are Far Cry 4 , Assassin’s Creed: Unity, and The Crew.
Ubisoft confirmed the news when speaking with PCGamersN, saying “We’ve been in discussions with Valve about Assassin’s Creed Unity but for the time being the game is not available via Steam in the UK,” Ubisoft says.
“In the meantime, UK customers wishing to purchase the game digitally can do so by visiting the Uplay store, our retail partners or other digital distributors.”
Since that interview, US customers have also been affected.
As of writing, there’s no plausible reason behind this decision other than to encourage people to use Uplay instead of Steam.
