Assassin’s Creed:Unity DLC Finally Brings Us To China

After much fan clamouring, an Assassin’s Creed title will finally be set in China.

However, it may not be what you expect. You can play as an assassin in China in the upcoming title Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China, which is a standalone 2D side-scrolling title. The game will actually be offered as “DLC” to the upcoming Assassin’s Creed: Unity title, and will come included with the purchase of the game’s season pass. For those of you looking to purchase Chronicles separately, you may be out of luck, as Ubisoft told Gamespot that “Right now the only way to get access to Chronicles is through the Season Pass.”

Chronicles‘ is set in 16th century China, and follows the 2D adventures of a female assassin named Shao Jun. This is another point of note, as Ubisoft recently came under fire about their stance on females in video games.

To go along with this bit of fan service, Ubisoft is telling us to expect lots more content if you purchase the season pass for Unity. A major DLC campaign titled “Dead Kings” is expected, which takes you out of France into the underground catacombs surrounding it in search of mysterious truths. Dead Kings will provide hours of new story content, as well as items and side missions which will be unlocked when you come back to the main game. 3 additional story missions, 20 new pieces of equipment including outfits and weapons, as well as new skills will be a part of Assassin’s Creed:Unity’s season pass.

Assassin’s Creed: Unity launches on November 11th for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
