Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain ‘Quiet’ Developer Demo
At this year’s Tokyo Game Show, Hideo Kojima gave a special stage presentation of Metal Gear Solid 5: the Phantom Pain, in which he said the game will not be released until 2015. Kojima showed off new gameplay that demonstrated the capabilities of the newly utilized Fox Engine that made its debut in Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes.
The developer demo of Metal Gear Solid 5: the Phantom Pain also focused on a new character, a sniper of few words known only as Quiet, who is apparently not concerned with dressing tacitly given the condition of her “field gear”. When addressed with player concerns for Quiet, Kojima told fans “I know there’s people concerning about ‘Quite’ but don’t worry” and “once you recognize the secret reason for her exposure, you will feel ashamed of your words”.
Quiet is shown to be one of Big Boss’ partners as the game focuses more on cooperative stealth. Quiet drops in to aid Big Boss in the guard patrolled jungle. She employs her ability to turn invisible and spots enemies while Big Boss covertly takes them out. Quit will also be able to aid Big Boss if he is discovered and must go loud. She will provide cover fire and engage enemies who are attempting to flank the player’s position.
Metal Gear Solid 5: the Phantom Pain will be hitting shelves in 2015 for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and Windows PC.
