Mortal Kombat X Release Date Announced

The release date for the tenth entry in the long-running fighting franchise, Mortal Kombat X, has been announced. The game will make its debut on April 15, 2015.

Alongside the release date developer NetherRealm Studios also revealed the preorder bonus for the game. One of the more older characters, four-armed Shokan-warrior Goro, will be available only through select retailers. The news might surprise some, only simply for the fact that Goro is one of the more popular and important characters in the series.

The game was first announced a few months back in June, a week before E3. What we’ve seen form the game so far indicates that Mortal Kombat X will maintain the series’ violent, and gruesome gameplay. It will also contain an interesting story, according to series creator Ed Boon, that will be driven by a few new characters introduced in MKX.

The game will release PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC.
