Tearaway Is Now A PlayStation 4 Game

One of PlayStation Vita’s best games, Media Molecule’s Tearaway, will now be available to play on PlayStation 4. Media Molecule made the announcement during Sony’s Gamescom conference, where it was revealed that Tearaway on PS4 will be called Tearaway Unfolded. It’s essentially the same game as the original Vita version, but tweaked to fit onto a console and a much bigger screen.

The 2013 Vita hit will migrate to PS4 with new features, such as special DualShock 4 functionality. The release date/window hasn’t been detailed, though it is highly unlikely that this is the PlayStation 4 exclusive that Media Molecule has been working on for a quite while, and teasing extensively this past year.

Tearaway was developed by a small chunk of Media Molecule, around a dozen or so employees. It isn’t probable that the same small team did this port.

Media Molecule’s other, more well-known series LittleBigPlanet received its own announcement this past E3 as a new, third entry in the PlayStation platformer was announced for both PS3 and PS4. You can watch a new Gamescom trailer for the game here.
