EA Announces EA Access

EA is launching their own version of Playstation Plus. According to a post on their website, EA will be launching a new subscription service for the Xbox One called EA Access. EA Access will be a monthly subscription service, it will cost $5 per month or $30 for one year and will provide Xbox One owners with unlimited access to select EA games.

The beta for EA Access is launching today with four games being available: FIFA 14, Madden NFL 25, Peggle 2 and Battlefield 4. EA has promised that they will be adding more games to the EA Access catalog soon.

The service will also provide a 10% discount for additional EA memberships such as Battlefield Premium and digital download titles such as Dragon Age: Inquisition and NHL 15. In addition to discounts, EA Access members will be able to try out new EA games for up to 5 days before release and can continue their progress if they buy the game.

EA Access memberships will be available in retail stores such as Gamestop and EB Games and will also be available via Amazon. No word yet on whether the service will be coming to the Playstation 4.
