Sony Santa Monica Reveals Its New Logo

Sony-owned studio Sony Santa Monica has announced that it has changed its logo to “create a flexible identity for all our games.” This new logo’s simple design will be used by the studio as frame through which players can “see the world of our games.”


“When you think about establishing a new brand identity” says Shannon Studstill, Director of Sony Santa Monica, “it is about more than an image, it is our promise to our fans that we will continue our tradition of inventive and exceptional games… Our games are the studio’s brand, and now our logo exemplifies who we are.”

The goal of the studio’s new brand identity is to make new, original titles, and forge its own path. This new outlook might be needed considering the fact that the studio suffered severe layoffs in the beginning of the year, which an unannounced project canceled entirely.
