Media Molecule Teases Its New Game…Kinda

Sony-owned studio Media Molecule, best known for its two LittleBigPlanet Games (LBP and LBP 2), and charming PS Vita platformer Tearaway, is busy making an unannounced PS4 title, and that’s no secret. The studio pretty much confirmed this fact by announcing its absence at E3 2014 several days before the event, and teasing it’ll showcase its next project sometime later this year.

Although we don’t quite know what this project is, we might have gotten a small glance at it via a short video released by the developer itself. Specifically, they tease the game by showing its bugging out.

“A rendering error on our new PS4 project caused this trippy sequence of colourful nonsense that begged to be shared. Consider it an exclusive peek at our new game if you like, it’s not particularly revealing, but it is fun, that much we guarantee… mostly,” the studio wrote.

Since 2011’s LittleBigPlanet 2, Media Molecule has only released Tearaway, a game that was worked on by only a dozen or so employees. It stated that it would be stepping away from the LBP franchise, and that was confirmed during Sony’s E3 2014 press conference when it was shown that another studio is working on the upcoming LittleBigPlanet 3.

Though this video did not show much, we can safely expect the developer’s next game to be quite colorful and original.
