Assassin’s Creed Unity “Revolution” Gameplay Trailer Released
A new trailer for the upcoming Assassin’s Creed game has emerged. Ubisoft released a new gameplay trailer for Assassin’s Creed Unity today. The “Revolution” trailer features the new main character Arno Dorian narrating a few brief story points over clips of him killing Parisian guards in a myriad of ways.
The trailer showcases the impressive graphical capabilities of the current-gen hardware, this being an Assassin’s Creed game the animation looks superb. On the other hand, Arno is still sporting a ridiculously ironic British accent, I sincerely hope Ubisoft is merely using a placeholder voice, otherwise it will be difficult to take the story seriously.
The 18th Century setting during the French Revolution looks to bring back a more traditional Assassin’s Creed experience. If you recall, the two previous games deviated from large cities, however Assassin’s Creed Unity will be set entirely in Paris (except for the modern-day segments). While only briefly shown, the improvements to the parkour traversal look impressive. Overall, the game looks interesting, though the lack of female characters in co-op stings a little.
Assassin’s Creed Unity is scheduled to release exclusively for the Xbox One, Playstation 4 and PC on Oct. 28. It will not be released on last-gen hardware. However, Ubisoft is apparently developing a last-gen-only Assassin’s Creed game. Stay tuned for more details on this announcement.
