Assassin’s Creed Unity Not Possible On Xbox 360, PS3
Ubisoft’s next entry in its popular Assassin’s Creed franchise, Unity, “can’t be done” on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The game will only release for both current-gen consoles, Xbox One and PS4, and also on PC.
In an interview with Gamespot, Ubisoft senior vice president of sales and marketing Tony Key reiterated that Unity is only a current-gen experience, and also stating that it’s only one of the few games that is.
“No, no. Assassin’s Creed Unity is a next-gen game. It’s built for next-gen; it can’t be done on current-gen, at least we haven’t figured out how and we’re not trying to,” Key said.
There have been rumors floating around for the past several months that Ubisoft is readying a last-gen only Assassin’s Creed game, titled Comet, for its large audience. Key stressed that the publisher will talk about the game in the near future. “Yeah, there’s plenty of current-gen Assassin’s Creed fans out there. We hope to be able to talk to them about that soon,” Key said.
Assassin’s Creed Unity is slated for release on October 28.
