New Mega Evolutions For Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire
CoroCoro magazine is once again exciting Pokemon fans by showcasing a new set of Mega evolutions and the arrival of some familiar faces in Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. The first part that got fans excited were the mega-evolved forms of Kyogre and Groudon, which we now know are known as Primal/Prehistoric/Primeval Groudon and Primal/Prehistoric/Primeval Kyogre. While looking pretty bad-ass, they’re also said to be “a regression called Ancient Devolution”. At the moment there’s not much more known about these two legendary Pokemon.
As well as these, three new Mega forms have been confirmed: Mega Sceptile, Mega Swampert and Mega Diancie, which joins the already-existing Mega Blaziken. You can see all of them in the magazine picture below: Mega Sceptile is a Grass/Dragon type (which a lot of fans have been waiting for) which is the only change as the other three retain their types. Mega Sceptile has also gained the ability Lightning Rod, which if it’s the same as the existing Lightning Rod means that it will be able to draw in Electric-type moves, and Mega Swampert has the ability Swift Swim, which raises Speed in the rain. The final Mega evolution related news is the Mega Bangle, which is the Mega evolution activating item for the new games.
In addition to the new Mega evolutions, some familiar characters will be making a newly-redesigned appearance in Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. Steven Stone looks to be returning and now owns a Mega Charizard X, and he’s after the secret of Mega evolution (who isn’t these days?) To really kick up the nostalgia Team Aqua and Team Magma are set to make a comeback: Team Magma is lead once again by Maxie and his admins Tabitha and Courtney, while Team Aqua is led by Archie and his admins Matt and Shelley, all of whom have been given a redesign. Like the original games, the team you face depends on which version of the game you buy.
In case you haven’t checked it out yet, make sure to have a look at the Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire release date announcement, set for November 2014, and the video they released with it. You can be sure CoroCoro will have more information and leaks as we get closer to the release date, and we’ll have all that information as soon as it comes out!
