MGSV: The Phantom Pain Map is Bigger than Every MGS Game Combined
Hideo Kojima has just shattered any doubts about how big Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is. In a pre-E3 Kojipro video demonstration, Kojima revealed an image that stacked all the maps from the Metal Gear Solid series next to each other, the results are quite interesting.
The maps from every Metal Gear Solid game from the original Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake all the way up to Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes are included for comparison, oddly enough Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops is excluded from the image.
While the picture is blurry, it clearly shows that the map in The Phantom Pain is astronomically larger than every previous Metal Gear Solid game combined. For those wondering, the top half of the map is blurred out as Kojima isn’t prepared to show that area just. He wasn’t exaggerating when he said that The Phantom Pain is over 200 times bigger than Ground Zeroes.
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is currently in development for the Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. The game is confirmed to be at E3 with the debut of a new trailer and a gameplay demonstration.
